Don't try to squeeze into someone else's shoes. Get your own, tie those laces like a pro, and make sure they're snug.
Sure, most people mean well and have your best interests at heart. But let's face it, you're the captain of your own ship.
When life has you feeling like a squirrel caught in a tornado, it's tempting to let someone
else take the wheel.
By all means, seek counsel and spill the beans to your trusted confidants. But if it turns into a game of 'Follow the Leader,' you're wandering into the land of lost souls.
In the immediate, this may seem like a way to relieve the pressure. After all, when we're struggling with choices and just trying to decide, our anxiety levels can skyrocket.
Giving someone else permission to tell us what we should do might connotes a form of self-abandonment. Nobody gets to control your brain unless you hand them the remote (and that's usually an accidental click).
Remember, even with the best intentions in the world, if someone has been in shoes similar to yours, they're still not your feet. Only you know what's the right fit for you.
Don't try to be Cinderella with someone else's slipper. Stick to your own shoes and tie those shoe laces like you're about to conquer the world (or at least your daily assignments).
